Firebird CTF Team Clinches Championship at 鵬城杯 Capture the Flag Contest 2023

In a resounding victory, our CSE Firebird CTF team members, who were enrolled in COMP 4633 and have named themselves "Turkey," emerged as champions at the prestigious 鵬城杯 Capture the Flag (CTF) Contest 2023. They showcased their exceptional skills and expertise in the Macau and Hong Kong districts. The team was honored at the grand awards ceremony held on January 19, 2024.

Alongside the Championship, the team also won the 10,000 HKD Championship award. The "Turkey" team consists of the following members from HKUST:

• Team member 1: CHAN, Lok Hin (CPEG)
• Team member 2: ZHANG, Zidi (COMP)
• Team member 3: CHENG, Ho Yin (COMP)
• Team member 4: TSOI, Ka Wong (DSCT)

The 鵬城杯 Capture the Flag (CTF) Contest 2023, renowned for its rigorous challenges and intense competition in information security, attracted approximately 600 top cybersecurity teams. These teams engaged in jeopardy-style CTF challenges across more than 20 industry-specific scenarios this year. Organized by China's Pengcheng Laboratory, the contest offers an unmatched real-world experience in cybersecurity to its participants. The CSE Firebird CTF team not only participated but also excelled in the competition, demonstrating their prowess in tackling complex cybersecurity challenges.
