Title: AI Powered Robotics for Logistics
Speaker: Mr. Zhang Hao, Founder and CTO, Dorabot

Abstract:

Nowadays, more and more AI technologies have come out of research labs to industrial applications, among which logistics is one of the most promising scenarios.

This talk will firstly give a brief introduction to the concept of "AI", "Robotics" and "Logistics". Then, current AI and robotic solutions in logistics will be presented. However, existing solutions cannot deal with vast varieties of object type, size and weight; do not deal with the seasonal fluctuation of the volume; and do not solve the hard problem of loading and unloading, which is where robots are most needed. Thus, we introduce the solutions Dorabot has developed and explain how they'll address those issues.

By making use of computer vision, manipulation, mobility, deep learning and other AI technologies, Dorabot provides both robotic solutions and pure software to facilitate the whole working process, including sorting robots, loading robots, mobile robots, load planning software and facility design software. By accumulating real-world application experience in logistics industry, Dorabot is hoping to achieve its vision of general purpose robot, most likely in the form of an autonomous mobile manipulator.
