Title: Modern Computer Vision and Its Pursuit to Next Generation AI
Speaker: Prof. Jiaya Jia, Distinguished Scientist and Director of Youtu Lab, Tencent & Professor, CSE, CUHK

In this talk, Prof. Jia will present the advancement of computer vision in these years and show how it becomes the center of next generation big-data artificial intelligence with the involvement of state-of-the-art mathematical models and machine learning technology. Prof. Jia will also demonstrate representative work that was yielded in his research group and show how this prospers research in this field in the long run. A few examples for low-, middle- and high-level computer vision techniques will be given to illustrate the practical impact of computer vision to society, industry and human lives. At the end of this talk, Prof. Jia will present his research direction, philosophy and his past and current team members.
