Abstract

As a foundation of Web 3.0 era, blockchain is getting more attentions both in 
academia and industry. However, blockchain system itself is far from meeting 
the requirement for various applications to run upon it. In this thesis, we try 
to dig into two fundamental aspects for building a promising blockchain:

Scalability: Scalability is the main bottleneck for large-scale use of 
blockchain. In this thesis, we bring the concept of reputation in communication 
network and propose a reputation based blockchain via sharding technic to 
achieve a near-linear scalability for blockchain system.

Incentive: For high-throughput blockchain, the main cost is related to 
transaction block propagation(i.e. network resource) other than hash power in 
the mining process. To facilitate the incentive of high-throughput blockchain, 
we design a practical incentive scheme for block propagation in blockchain 
system. Our scheme can also reduce the network overlap to save network 
resources.
