Preparation for the Wiimote Projects
 
Here are the hardware/software things you need to have before using the programs.
 
For all of the three programs
 
  • Wiimote
This is used to receive the IR signals and then send back to the computer through bluetooth. You can get this when you buy a Wii package.
 
  • Bluetooth device
This is used to act as a communication medium between the Wiimote and the computer. Your computer may already has bluetooth, otherwise you need to buy a bluetooth device.
 
 
 
For the WIMP program
 
  • IR LED pen
This IR LED pen is used by users to control the WIMP program by doing different simple gestures. You probably cannot buy this, you have to make it yourselves.
 
  • Glasses with three IR LEDs
These glasses contain three IR LEDs which must be placed on a straight line. It is used for head position tracking. You probably cannot buy this, you have to make it yourselves.

For the Whiteboard program
 
  • IR LED pen
This IR LED pen is used to operate the system like a touch screen pen. For more details, please go to Johnny Lee's website. You probably cannot buy this, you have to make it yourselves.

For the IR Display program
 
  • Any IR emitters
Since this program is used to display IR signals, any types of IR emitter can be used.
