Call
for FastAbstracts
FastAbstracts
(a two page published technical paper, lightly reviewed, with a short talk)
is an idea that was first introduced in FTCS-28 by Prof. Jean Arlat and
Dr. Ram Chillarege. It has grown in appeal far more than they ever anticipated;
several conferences have adopted it. We are very pleased to follow their
lead in organizing a fast abstracts session in PRDC 1999. The following
are the submission details and acceptance procedures.
-
FastAbstract submissions are due on Oct. 1, 1999.
-
All submissions will be quickly reviewed and acceptances will be announced
before Oct. 15, 1999.
-
Only electronic submissions in the form of a postscript file produced in
two column format, and filling a maximum of two pages are accepted.
-
All accepted abstracts must be presented at the symposium. You are allowed
10 minutes for your talk including questions and answers.
-
If your FastAbstract is accepted, you will need to fill out a copyright
transfer form, and quickly handle any recommended changes.
-
Several examples of fast abstracts from the past FTCS and ISSRE are archived
at http://www.chillarege.com/fastabstract.html.
-
Please send your submission as an email attachment to PRDC1999@cs.ust.hk.
