Prof. Tong ZHANG Elected as IEEE Fellow

Prof. Tong ZHANG, Chair Professor of Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Mathematics, has been elected as IEEE Fellow for the Class of 2020. He is being recognized for his contributions to machine learning algorithms.

Prof. Zhang's research interests include machine learning algorithms and theory, statistical methods for big data and their applications. He is also fellow of ASA and IMS, and he has been in the editorial boards of leading machine learning journals and program committees of top machine learning conferences.

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. For more information, please visit the IEEE Fellow website.
