Prof. Lei CHEN Elected as IEEE Fellow

Prof. Lei CHEN, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has been elevated as IEEE Fellow (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) in the Class of 2020 for his contributions to time series management and spatial crowdsourcing.

Prof. Chen received his BS degree in Computer Science at Tian Jin University, P.R.China (BS 94), and an MA degree in Computer Science at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Asian Institute of Technology (MS 97). He received a PhD degree in Computer Science at University of Waterloo. Prof. Chen is also an ACM Distinguished Scientist and the Director of the HKUST Big Data Institute.

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. It is also the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
