I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Sience and Engineering at Hong Kong Unversity of Science and Technology (HKUST), under the supervision of Prof. Qiong Luo. I recieved my B.S. degree in Mathematics at Hefei Unversity of Technology, China in 2010. Then I worked as a High Performance Computing Engineer at BGI-Shenzhen, China (formerly the Beijing Genomics Institute) before I arrived at HKUST in 2014.

My reasearch interest is in data processing and analysis with parallel computing techniques. Currently I focus on the acceleration of genomic data analysis, triggered by the overwhelming growth of new-generation sequencing data. My ongoing research topic is to use multi-core processors to accelerate the process of genome assembly, which is a major step in the genomic analysis.
