• The Program and Courses Outcomes System (PACOS) is a free, open source web-based system to assist with OBE (Outcome Based Education) design. It was designed to be used by a department of a university or similar institution as a centralized web system for the members of the department to access and amend the course-outcome mappings of program(s) offered by the department. http://www.cse.ust.hk/obe_software/
• WIMP - image processing in a 3D environment using the Nintendo Wii game system controller (called the Wiimote) http://www.cse.ust.hk/wii_3d/
• NanoGong - voice recording/playback applet with variable speed, fully integrated into Moodle http://gong.ust.hk/nanogong
• IFSS - Image Forensics Search System, released as open source project at http://ifss.sourceforge.net
• Adaptation of the eToken system for Moodle, in collaboration with Prof. David Kennedy, Department of Education, Hong Kong University and Prof. Doug Vogel, Department of Information Systems, City University of Hong Kong. Source funding was a HKU Seed Grant obtained by Prof. David Kennedy. 2007. HK$65,000. Released as open source project here.
• Adaption of Podcasting techniques for a postgraduate Computer Science Course. An extension sub-project under the university-wide application 'Continuous Learning and Improvement Through Teaching Innovation' - Principle Investigator. Teaching Development Grant, 2006. HK$50,000.
• Wavelet based determination of BPM for MP3 format audio, 2005. RGC - Direct Allocation Grant, HK$36,160.
• HILOCS Highly interactive learning objects for Computer Science. A sub-project under the university-wide application 'Continuous Learning and Improvement Through Teaching Innovation' - Principle Investigator, Teaching Development Grant, 2005. HK$350,000. For this we developed the SASSLO system as an open source project, released at http://sasslo.sourceforge.net, accumulated a searchable database of around 500 learning objects for learning/teaching computer science and engineering here, and are in the process of building more learning objects here
• Gong - Project extension funded by the VPAAO office, HKUST, 2004. HK$530,000.
• Image processing - Interactive web pages for understanding the representation and processing of digital images - Principle Investigator. Learnet Production Fund, 2004. HK$36,000.
