Teaching

  • Best Ten Lecturers Award (out of almost 500 faculty members) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 1999. This award is given once a year, and is done through University-wide voting by all students to elect the best 10 teachers of the whole University. Less than 8% of the faculty have received this prestigious award since its introduction in 1996.

  • Teaching Excellence Appreciation Awardfrom the School of Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 1998.

  • Fellow of IEEE for contributions to design and analysis of high-speed packet switching

  • Best Paper Award at the 2009 IEEE International Conference on Communications, Dresden, Germany, 2009.

  • Best Paper Award (out of 152 papers) at The 12th IEEE International Conference on Information Networking, 1998.

  • Best PhD Paper Award with my PhD student within all Universities in Hong Kong, 2003.
