Course Description (Modified from University Academic Calendar)

Information retrieval models, profiling user interests, personalization of search engine results; wireless data dissemination, human trajectory analysis, integration of content, location and social network in search, collaborative search and location recommendation.

Course Objective

After completing the course, students will have acquired:

a) Broad knowledge in web search and research advances in searching on mobile devices

b) Indepth knowledge in specific topics through course projects and presentations

Homework/lab assignments must be done individually. Collaboration between students is strictly forbidden. Any violation will be passed to the Department's Undergraduate/Postgraduate Studies Committee for assessment. The result may lead to dismissal from the University.

Term project must be done by the individual group. No sharing of code and copying of code from previous projects are allowed.
