My name is Chang Xu (许畅). I obtained my Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2008, my M.Eng. degree in computer software and theory from Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS) in 2003, and my B.Eng. degree in computer science and technology from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2000.
I am currently a research assistant professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. You may approach me in Room 3547 (near Lift 25/26) or contact me via email changxu A/T cse D/O/T ust D/O/T hk (please replace A/T and D/O/T with '@' and '.', respectively).
I was awarded the 2005-06 and 2006-07 IBM PhD Fellowship honors. I am an ATC Certified ARM Engineer.
My research interests include context management for pervasive computing, RFID benchmarking, semantic Web services, and software engineering. Recently, I have been focusing on methodologies of partial constraint checking and automated repair for context inconsistencies in pervasive computing. Here is the list of my recent publications (or try the DBLP search).
Academic search engines and resources: IEEE Xplore, ACM Portal, and VLDB.
I was the secretary to program chairs of 2007 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE 2007).
I was the reviewer for the following journals:
International Journal of Automation and Computing (IJAC)
Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCST)
Pervasive and Mobile Computing (PMC)
Service Oriented Computing and Applications (SOCA)
I served the following program committees:
2010 IEEE International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing and Applications (SOCA 2010)
