Abstract:

Elly's talk will cover an introduction to Blockchain and Bitcoin, based on the global news and real cases experience, and bring the future of money firmly into focus She will provide the students with a non-technical overview of the concept, sharing real-world scenarios of how it's addressing problems which traditional payment systems and networks simply cannot, including remittances, micro-transactions and more.

Biography of the Speaker:

Elly Zhang is a London based global marketing professional. Elly was born in Shanghai, China, and grew up in the financial centre of Asia, Hong Kong. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree in English for Professional Communication from City University of Hong Kong and began her career training at different elite PR agencies in Hong Kong. She has built a steady network within the lifestyle and entertainment industry before jumping into Fintech. Elly moved to London from Hong Kong in 2014, where she started her master's degree in Applied Corporate Brand Management at Brunel University London, taking time to travel around Europe to embrace different cultures. In London, she regularly meets with entrepreneurs, developers and start-ups to learn more about the rapidly growing Fintech industry. Upon finishing her master's degree, Elly joined Blockchain as an analyst. She is currently in charge of Blockchain market research, strategy planning, PR and marketing in APAC, with a special focus on the Greater China region.
