BEng in Computer Science (Information Engineering) (CSIE)
- Degree Offered: BEng
- Program Code: 5426
- Abbreviated Title: CSIE
- Program Duration: Three Academic Years (Full-time)
- Planned Intake: 36
The Program
Computer science studies the application of computers in solving many important problems in scientific, engineering and commercial domains. This is a specialized undergraduate degree program that specializes in some important areas of IT, such as multimedia computing and computer networking, with an emphasis on software development.
While other Information Engineering programs in Hong Kong are closer to Electronic Engineering, our BEng in Computer Science (Information Engineering) program, CSIE, is unique in that its emphasis is on software aspects of Information Engineering. In fact, the CSIE program satisfies all the general requirements of a typical Computer Science program. It has been carefully designed with the specific needs of Hong Kong and this region in mind.
Features of the program include: American-style teaching, optional one-year full-time exchange program, optional one-year full-time work placement, intensive English training, industrial training, final year projects, ample scholarships and awards, and special Honors Study Track for elite students.
