Self Financed MPhil Announcement

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is recruiting self-financed MPhil students to start in Fall 2010. Unlike the one-year MSc program which focuses on taking courses, these MPhil students will be admitted into our regular MPhil program with a *research emphasis*, which usually takes 2 years working with a faculty member. The 2010/11 tuition fee at HKUST is around HK$42,000.

Although self-financed MPhil students are expected to support their study on their own, students with good performance may get partial support from interested faculty members and may continue for PhD studies thereafter.

Note: because MSc is different from MPhil, students need to apply for MPhil separately even if they have applied for MSc before.
