Uppsala University (founded in 1477) is the oldest university in Sweden and Scandinavia. It is a research university associated with 8 Nobel Prize laureates. There are faculties including Pharmacy, Arts, Law, Languages, Education, Medicine, Science and Technology, Social Sciences and Theology. - Department of Information Technology
The Department of Information Technology is a research oriented department with connections with the industry. There are 280 employees and 3000 students. They offer 2-year master's programs in computer science as well as specialized fields such as embedded systems. - Student Life in Uppsala:
Uppsala is famous for its rich student life. Besides the Nobel Prize winner annual lectures and academic ceremonies, Uppsala has various museums, music festivals, the Walpurgis Night, and a culture of student nations. - Some practical issues
