BMVA Sullivan Thesis Award

Dr. Albert C.S. Chung, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, is the winner of the 2002 British Machine Vision Association (BMVA) Sullivan Thesis Award.

A prize fund was established by BMVA to commemorate the contribution made by the late Professor Geoff Sullivan to the advancement of the field of Computer Vision in the United Kingdom. The prize is considered for award, on an annual basis, to the best doctoral thesis submitted to a UK University, in the field of computer or natural vision.

An expert in medical image processing, Dr. Chung received his M.Phil. degree in Computer Science from HKUST in 1998 and D.Phil degree in Engineering Science from University of Oxford in 2001.
