Programming Team Wins First Prize in ACM Asia Contest

In the ACM Asia Regional Programming Contest that was held in Ho Chi Minh City, the HKUST programming team comprised of CSE students CHEN Chen, CHEN Qifeng, and WU You won the first prize and was ranked at the 4th place. All top 4 teams solved the same number of questions, but the HKUST team unfortunately just used slightly more time. The same team also got the 6th place in the Taipei site.

Other teams have also obtained very good results in the regional contests at various sites:

  • Team of CHEN chen (COMP-PHYS), CHEN Qifeng (COMP), and WU You (COMP):
    First prize (4th place) in Ho Chi Minh, and 6th place in Taipei
  • Team of QIU Qianhao (COMP), LI,Qingxi (COMP), and Hung Chiu Lung (CPEG):
    Third prize (10th place) in Ho Chi Minh, and 9th place in Taipei
  • Team of WONG Wai Shing (CPGBM), CHUI Sung Him (CPEG), YEUNG Yuen Chuen (BBA):
    Honorable Mention in Taipai
  • Team of CHUI Sung Him (CPEG), YEUNG Yuen Chuen (BBA), and LI Yuliang (COMP):
    Honorable Mention in Chengdu

The teams are led by coaches Dr. YI Ke and PG student LUO Ji.
